NEW RELEASE: Lovely Thoughts + SquirrelFest Winner!

Hi, it's Emily here, and I'm sharing a card that uses one of the newest Paper Smooches stamp sets called Lovely Thoughts. I combined it with the Roses Dies. While the Roses Dies are not a match to the Lovely Thoughts stamp set, they complement each other and can be used together in so many ways.

After three-step stamping the roses, I used the much-loved Stitched Dies to die cut the stems. Then I used the small leaf die from the Roses Dies with a similar one from the Flowers Dies. I stacked a vellum layer over top of the glimmer layer for a light and pretty effect.

The Lovely Thoughts stamp set and Rose Dies will be available for purchase at midnight Eastern Time tonight in the Paper Smooches Store, and at participating retailers on December 1st or shortly thereafter.

I used Random.org to select the category and that was the challenge portion of the festivities. From there, I used Random.org again to select from the challenge participants and the lucky winner of Chilly Chums and I Blank You is Samantha Mann! Congratulations, Samantha! Please contact me with your mailing address and I'll ship those Paper Smooches stamps out to you right away.

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by during my month-long SquirrelFest Challenge and Giveaway!

Roll With It: Holiday Card inspired by Gymboree

Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Hi, everyone! It's Emily here with a card that was inspired by the gingerbread man pyjamas at Gymboree. As soon as I saw it, I knew exactly which stamps I would use to replicate it.

I used the rolling pin from Kitschy Kitchen(Kitchen Icons), the gingerbread man from Giddy Gumdrops(Gumdrops Icons), a sentiment from Calorie Free, and shadows from the Shadows stamp set.

My son also pops in the video to offer his suggestions on card design! ;)

The patterned papers are from the Jubilee Wild Berry paper pad by My Mind's Eye. The enamel dots are from the Charmed collection. They were originally white and I coloured them with a R27 Copic marker to coordinate with the hat. I added shimmer to the icing on the gingerbread man and white parts on the hat with a Wink of Stella pen.

See you tomorrow for the Paper Smooches DT Blog Hop! We have another big release for you and it's fantastic!!

Joyful Tag + Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags Giveaway

***Please click HERE for Savannah's video and giveaway with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags!

My very wonderful and talented friend Tracey McNeely asked me to guest for her 25 Days of Christmas Tags and I'm delighted to share this tag and video on Day 22 of her festivities! Tracey has some amazing prizes to give away, including one from Paper Smooches so be sure to head over to her blog for all the details.

I started by die cutting the largest of the Gift Tags 2 dies and applied pearlescent embossing paste using Heidi Swapp's Confetti stencil. While that dried, I die cut the Cool Dudes Icons and stamped their respective images with the Cool Dudes stamp set. Then I coloured them in with Copic markers and embellished the snowlady's outfit with enamel dots.

To ground the snowfamily - oh, how I love that tiny little snowbaby! - I die cut the tag again in white cardstock and glimmer paper. Then I used the Borders 1 and Quotables dies to create the snow hills. After adhering the snowfamily to the tag, I added chevron ribbon and white hemp cord with some silver bells.

***
Just a quick reminder that today is the last day to join in on my SquirrelFest Challenge and Giveaway! I'm giving away Chilly Chums and I Blank You to one lucky winner.

SquirrelFest Challenge + Giveaway!

Hi, it's Emily here with a new squirrel card and video for my fall SquirrelFest Challenge. After sharing my husband's card and my son's painting, I was inspired to create my own hilarious squirrel scene in the form of an accordion tri-fold card.

I used Enjoy the Show (Circus Icons) and Fanciful Fall (Fanciful Fall Icons) sets to create my scene and sponged the sky and grass with distress inks.

If this scene were to play out in slow motion, you would see the squirrel jumping up to replace all of the acorns with balls. I'm sure you have other interpretations of what's happening between the clown and the squirrel. I'd love to hear them! ;)

I hope you'll play along for extra chances to win two fabulous Paper Smooches stamp sets!
