Happy Thanksgiving with Noggin Toppers and Jive Turkey

Hi, everyone! It's Emily here, and this card is part of the October DT Blog Hop. You can get the full hop list on the Paper Smooches Blog. My card features the Noggin Toppers stamp set. Not only are the hats fantastic and versatile, the name of the stamp set is so fun! You know how much I love Paper Smooches characters and critters. These hats will make them suitable for all occasions, stretching your stamp sets further.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the turkeys from Jive Turkey, then the two hats from Noggin Toppers. After determining positions on a panel of patterned paper from Heidi Swapp's Dreamy 6x6 paper pad,

I used the Shadows stamp set to ground the turkeys and stamped the sentiment from Jive Turkey. Then I adhered the four pieces with glue dots and a Zig glue pen. Now these cheerful turkeys are dressed to the nines for Thanksgiving! The best part? The card is flat and easy to mail.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Scrapbook & Cards Today Feature + Giveaway!

Hello, everyone! I'm delighted to be sharing this Paper Smooches Halloween project on the Scrapbooking & Cards Today Blog! I hope you'll pop over there to leave some love. Did I mention there's a giveaway? :)

I created this card using the Halloweenies stamp set and coordinating Halloweenies dies. I coloured the images with Copic markers and heat embossed the sentiment on a hill die cut with the Quotables dies. The buildings in the background are from the Super 2 dies.

I finished the card with glossy accents on all the eyes. Apparently, I don't do this often enough since my son asked what was on their eyes and was hesitant to touch it. LOL! I do like how they give the illusion of googly eyes while preserving the original illustrations.

Housewarming Gift Toppers with Just For You

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians!! :)

Kim shared this project on the Paper Smooches Blog last week. It features the Just For You stamp set as a shaker topper for a plate of homemade cookies I baked for friends of ours who moved in across the street.

I used the Ornaments and Pinked Circles dies to create the shaker for the two-part sentiment and scalloped border. For the other topper on this house-warming gift, I used the Bitty Bungalows stamp set and coordinating Bungalows dies.

Happy Christmas

Kim shared this card in the September Release newsletter and it'll also be on the Paper Smooches Blog this week. It features the Christmas Words 2 dies, as well as the Enchanted Elves stamp set, coordinating Elf Icons dies and Stitched dies.

I used Copic markers to colour in the characters and added shimmer to select areas on each of them with a Wink of Stella marker.

I stacked four layers of Christmas Words 2 together to make them pop off the card base.  The subtle Stitched hills ground the characters without adding more bulk to the card.

A Blessed Christmas with Blessed Icons

Kim shared this card on the Paper Smooches Blog last week. It features the A Blessed Christmas stamp set and coordinating Blessed Icons dies. I hand-cut the patterned papers the way my friend Jocelyn Olson so expertly cuts hers!

I die cut the angel from Tim Holtz distress watercolour cardstock and stamped the image with Ranger Archival ink. Then I watercoloured the image with Gansai watercolour paints.

I used the Ovals 1 dies to create the opening which features the angel. The stitched frame was made with the Dots & Dashes dies and I added photo corners die cut with the Toppers dies. All of the patterned papers are from Studio Calico's Brighton Pier 6x6 paper pad.
