Pet Sympathy Card using Feathers Dies as Angel Wings

Hi, it's Emily Leiphart here and I'm sharing a how-to on making a pet sympathy card using the Feathers Dies as angel wings. I've used Nine Lives and Nine Lives Dies here for a friend who lost her cat but you could easily swap in Woofers & Tweeters and Woofers Dies or Paws for a Cause if you needed to make a pet sympathy card for a dog.

Gift Bags with the Hot Spots Small Base Die

Hi, it's Emily Leiphart here and I'm sharing a how-to on making large and small gift bags with the Hot Spots Small Base Dies. This die is most commonly used to create scene cards but you can get more out of your dies by thinking out-of-the-box or, in this case, in the box! ;)

To create the boxes, you need to die cut the die twice. For the middle section, which I call the container strip - since it houses the treats/toys/greeting cards - complete instructions and measurements for both versions can be found in my video.

These gift boxes are so easy to whip up for last-minute gift-giving! You could make these for any occasion in a variety of themes.

Stay tuned for more gift box ideas with the Hot Spots Large Base Dies!

Trav's Card Style #2 (breaking the rules) with Savannah O'Gwynn

Hello, friends:}

Savannah O'Gwynn here, and today I'm sharing another quick start-to-finish card with you!! Since I'm still over in Israel, I needed something quick to make! Trav's Card Style is the perfect design for this quick video:)

I have to be honest... I do NOT like Trav's Card Style-- it's sooooooooo boring! There's nothing to it! SOOOOO plain! So I kind of broke the rules (i.e. "stamp ribbon done") for this creation! LOL!

Trav's Card Style with Savannah O'Gwynn

Hello, friends:}

Savannah O'Gwynn here, and today I'm sharing a quick start-to-finish card with you!! This card and video are quick today because...

  1. Trav and I leave for a trip to Israel in less than 24 hours!!!!! HOOOOORAY:)
  2. I ran out of time!
  3. Trav kind of challenged me in our interview video (HERE)-- he said if I ever tried "his" card style/design than the video would be quick! That's exactly what I needed since I haven't even packed for our trip yet!!! LOL!
So I tried Trav's Card Style-- also known as "Stamp Ribbon Done". I think this card turned out super cute.... but I want to add sooooooooo much more! LOL!

I actually think that I might start a NEW feature here on the VS blog using Trav's Card Style as my inspiration/design! LOL!

Combining Flirty Frames with Duo Die 1, Duo Die 2 and Frame 1

Hi, it's Emily Leiphart here and today I'm sharing two cards using the Flirty Frames stamp set! I'm combining the first one with the Duo Die 1 and Frame 1 dies. For both of my cards, I use the emboss resist technique with distress inks. The balloons are first- and second-generation stamped on the Frame 1 die.

My second card uses the other frame stamp that coordinates with the Duo Die 2 die. I heat embossed this with gold embossing powder and sponged darker distress inks using the emboss resist technique.

I used water to mist the distress inks on this card, creating a beautiful, blended watercolour look.

See how both of these cards came together:
