Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello, everyone! Happy National Cocoa Day!! I hope you're all enjoying your favourite hot  beverages, whether it's coffee, tea or cocoa. I always love the Coffee Lovers Blog Hops and, this time, I made a tea card with a video!

I used quite a few Paper Smooches products, including Foliage 1, Foliage 2, Bows, Coffee & Tea, A Holy Holiday, Cyber Cafe and Christmas Sampler. Phew! That was a lot. ;)

I stacked three shapes and shades of green leaves to create laurels at the top and bottom of my card. The blue bow, sentiment and teapot create a vertical line to draw the eye down the centre of the card. The silver behind the blue bow is reflected in the string holding the tea bag to the pot.

Be sure to comment or play along for your chance to win one of many amazing prizes for the Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Die Cutting Tip with Savannah O'Gwynn

Hello, friends:}

Savannah O'Gwynn here today! I'm back---- after a canyon sized gap between my last video! I apologize for that gap!!!! I was traveling and then sick (couldn't talk at all)-- I really didn't get much done during the month of November!

Today I'm sharing a quick tip that I recently learned and used on my PS December Release blog hop creation--- you can use a dryer sheet when die cutting! The dryer sheet helps hold all the die cut pieces with your image. This is super helpful when using simple or intricate die cut images!!!
Here's the video *****Be sure to change your settings to HD before watching! THANKS!

This week's Virtual Smooches Featured Fan is.........my friend Tony! Actually, he's my trainer and friend:) He asked about three weeks ago for some "fancy" paper to create an anniversary card for his bride [they celebrated their first anniversary on 10.11]. I brought him some supplies and paper....and this is the card he created! ***NOTE: the background on this card was inspired by THIS and THIS video--- which oddly enough was the wedding card I created for them!!!
He was a bit overwhelmed with all the dots, die cuts, etc.... but he did an AWESOME job! He made this card all by himself:)
Happy anniversary, Tony and Gretchen <3

Congrats to TonyPlease email me at {savannahland2 at comcast dot net} to receive your VS FF badge!!! Or I'll just text it to you:)

Colorful Cat-Lover Card

Hey Virtual Smooches friends, Kalyn here! It's been way too long since I've popped in on the blog and I've missed it so much! I've been busy moving and getting back into the swing of graduate school, so videos took a bit of a break. But I'm back and so excited!

Today I've got a silly and colorful card that will be perfect for any cat-lover out there! I just love the Chubby Chums set from Paper Smooches and knew I wanted to create something with it! I also used the classic Whirligigs set to create the bold polka dots.

Watch this short video I made and see how it all came together:

Thanks so much for joining me today! And I'll be back very soon! Happy Monday!

Sav Challenges #3 + Tips with Savannah O'Gwynn

Hello, friends:}

Savannah O'Gwynn here today! I'm back and I feel like I'm a bit rusty! So many crazy things happened while recording this video!

I'm sharing how I created these 2 cards for our new neighbors. I'm using up my stash and creating CAS card designs--- that makes these perfect for the Sav Challenges! Kalyn also joined in the fun with my challenge of using up your stash--- HOOOOOORAY! She's our Virtual Smooches Featured Fan of the week! Be sure to check out her project and video HERE

I also share some tips throughout the video; these tips help me when I'm crafting so I thought I would share them with you! Some are old and some are new... hopefully they help you:)

I also get distracted by Olsen! He runs and hides under my desk when he hears thunder or during a thunderstorm. YUP! You guessed it! There was a storm going on while I was recording- LOL! Anyway... I definitely was distracted by him coming under my desk while recording (there's literally NO room for my feet or body when he's under there! LOL!)!!
Here's the video *****Be sure to change your settings to HD before watching! THANKS!

Using Paper Scraps in Cardmaking

Hi there! Kalyn here, back after a bit of a break. I've been on vacation and moved since I last posted! Lots going on, but I missed posting videos so much! So here's my latest card and video tutorial! It's all about using up paper scraps on a card:

I used the Group Hugs stamp set, the Coffee & Tea dies as well as the Flourishes 1 dies all from Paper Smooches. Watch the step-by-step video below or over at YouTube!

Hope you enjoyed it and this gave you some inspiration to use up those scraps! They can turn into a really cute card if you give it a whirl!

Thanks for stopping by!
