Watercolor Butterflies Card

Hi there, Kalyn here! Hope your week is off to a great start! Today I'm sharing a new card and video with you featuring watercolors and how to create your own custom die cuts!

I love the look of watercoloring on projects, but sometimes you don't want to commit to painting right on your card. I've found that painting on die cut pieces not only makes it fool proof, but also gives you an awesome customized look to your embellishments!

Watch the video below or over at YouTube to see how it all came together!

On this card, I used the Pretty Phrases stamp set as well as the Butterfly Duet die set and the Just For You Icons die set. Be sure to check them out at Paper Smooches!

Pinterest-Inspired Paint Strokes Card

Hi Virtual Smooches pals, Kalyn here! I hope your week is off to a fantastic start and that you're enjoying some stellar summer weather!

I'm back with my weekly video tutorial and a new card to share with you! I took to Pinterest to get some inspiration and found a gorgeous image of a painting that I wanted to replicate. Check out the pin here. It's from A Beautiful Mess, one of my favorite places for inspiration.

I took the Positive Strokes Two set to recreate the painting look and then topped it off with the Happy Birthday Words die. It's easy and gives you that artistic effect without having to break out the paints and brushes! Watch the video to see how it all came together:

I hope you enjoyed my painterly, Pinterest-inspired card today! Be sure to check out Paper Smooches to grab the stamp set and die that I used to create this! And if you like watching YouTube tutorials, subscribe to my channel so you'll catch my latest videos as soon as I upload them!

Elegant Embossed Wedding Card

Hi friends, Kalyn here! I hope your week is off to a great start! I know Mondays can be a bit of a drag sometimes, but I always look at them as a fresh start. Plus, I've got a new card and video to share with you, so it's not all bad! :)

Since it's June and wedding season is in full swing, I wanted to create an elegant wedding card that you could make to give to a special couple on their big day. You could also give this as an anniversay card if you like!

I used Hubby & Wifey as well as the Congratulations die on this card and incorporated heat embossing and some gold metallic cardstock to amp up the elegance factor. I really love embossing on vellum, it just gives it the most special look and this technique even has a lace effect! Watch the video tutorial below or over on my YouTube channel to see how it all came together:

So there you have it! A lacy, cake-y card perfect for your next wedding event! I hope you like it and that you give some embossed vellum a try!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have an awesome week!

Awesum Dad Pie Chart Card

Hi there, Kalyn here! Today I've got a Father's Day card to share with you and a video tutorial to go with it! I've got lots of Father's Day projects that I've created using some different styles to fit the different guys in our lives. This one is for the lovable nerd, math-whiz or stats guy, featuring pie charts and the "aweSUM" sentiment.

I added some fun vellum pinked circles to give the card some dimension and interest. And you know I can't resist stamping on a patterned background. It's my favorite.

Well, I hope you liked the card and my video tutorial! For direct links to all the products I used, click the video to watch it over at YouTube and the product links are in the description box!

Masked Background Mom Card

Hi Virtual Smooches friends! Happy May to you! I'm so excited that spring is in full swing and summer is on the horizon. I wish these seasons lasted forever!

So with Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I wanted to share one last Mother's Day card idea! This one uses a mix of the Roses die set, the Retro Arrow die, a Flag Tags die and the Sassy Script stamp set. I wanted to use the Retro Arrow die and create a mask to create a misted background.
Watch the video tutorial I created below to see how it all came together!

So there you have it! A fun technique-y Mother's Day card, perfect for this Sunday or for your mom's birthday! You could even change up the sentiment entirely and use it for a friend's birthday. Thanks so much for visiting today and I'll see you again next week with a new video!
