Sav Challenges with Savannah O'Gwynn

Hello, friends:}

Savannah O'Gwynn here today:) It's been awhile since I've played along with my own challenges! LOL! So this week I challenged myself to

  1. Create a masculine card
  2. Create a CAS card
  3. Use up my paper stash (so I can go shopping for more! LOL!)
Here's the video *****Be sure to change your settings to HD before watching! THANKS!

This card is super simple- and it's perfect for Valentine's Day. **NOTE: Trav already saw this card, so I will have to make sure I surprise him on VDay with a different card! LOL!

Yar Matey + Video Hop Event with Giveaways!!!

Hi, it's Emily here, and this project is part of the January DT Blog Hop. Please visit the Paper Smooches Blog for all the details! My card features the Ahoy Me Hearty stamp set. This pirate-themed set is so much fun and it's one of my most favourite masculine sets since Super. I created my own pirate by using selective inking and masking on the mad scientist from Great Chemistry.

I used the Love Word and Flowers dies to create the eye patch. The combination of the scowling upside-down mouth, eye patch and googly eye makes me laugh!

I thought you would enjoy seeing the mad scientist's doppelgänger staring back at him. LOL!

The custom sentiment was created by mixing and matching parts of phrases from Ahoy Me Hearty and the exclamation mark is from Mini Monograms. The background was created using the Curly Clouds and Borders 1 dies.

Adorkable Valentine

Hi, it's Emily here, and today I'm sharing a fun Valentine's card featuring an adorkable couple! ;) I used stamps from the Incognito and Sunny Side Up stamp sets, as well as dies from the GlassesRoses and Tiny Hearts die collections.

The card is centred around the two characters which were brought to life using the Glasses Dies. I wanted the personality of the guy to coordinate with his sentiment so I used vellum to "fog up" the glasses. Then I placed a stack of Tiny Hearts Dies in each lens to express his love for the lady.

The main reason why I wanted to make this card was that I really wanted to make a fascinator with the Roses Dies. Eeek! I created the fancy hat with a layered tulle veil and I'm thrilled with the way it turned out.

In order to maintain a balance between the left and right sides of the card, I selectively die cut part of the vellum Word Bubble Die to make it smaller and, essentially, lighter than the patterned paper one since the fascinator visually makes the right side of the card heavier.

Shrink Film Earrings and Charms

Hi, it's Emily here, and my son stars in this video  to showcase the earrings he made for his grandma's birthday earlier this month. This was the first time either of us had used shrink film. We used the white version but they also have clear and black. It was so much fun that I want to shrink everything! LOL

We used many, many Paper Smooches stamps and dies, all of which are linked below. The main ones featured are the roses from Pretty Momma and the large cluster of florals from Blossoming Buds.

We also used the Gift Tags 1 Dies and hemp cord to create hang cards for the earrings, which were coloured with Sharpies. I hope you're inspired to try something new with your Paper Smooches stamps and dies!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Watercolor Love Struck Card

Hi there, it's Kalyn! I'm back with another card video today! Today's card features one of my recent favorite techniques - watercoloring! I just love the look of it, so I combined some watercoloring with lots of Paper Smooches stamps to create a fun and easy valentine. I used the Love Struck stamp set and the Love & Cherish dies on this card. Check out the description box of the video for direct links to the products I used. Hope you like it!

Do you like watercoloring on your cards and projects? I think it's super fun and I definitely want to keep incorporating it in to my projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

CAS Sympathy card with Savannah O'Gwynn

Hello, friends:}

Savannah O'Gwynn here today:) I had the coolest baby shower project and idea for my video today, but I needed a sympathy card and decided to share my process for that instead.

Savannah Fact: I do not like making sympathy cards!

Savannah Fact #2: I never have any sympathy cards on hand! Unfortunately, I received a phone call last night that a family friend had passed. And because I never have any on hand... I am sharing this CAS sympathy card with you.

Here's the video *****Be sure to change your settings to HD before watching! THANKS!

I actually created 2 extra cards because this design was so simple!

Fruitastic Shaker Tags

Hi, everyone! It's Emily and I'm back with a project and video that showcases the newly-released Fruitastic Icons which coordinate with the much-loved Fruitastic stamp set. Now you can easily mass-produce fun shaker tags like these, just in time for Valentine's Day!

I watercoloured all the fruit using Gansai paints. Then I created shaker tags using the Quote Tag and Bam Bubble dies.

I used May Arts ribbon and a combination of Hemptique Neon and Lawn Fawn Lemonade cord to finish off the tags.

I hadn't originally intended these to be Valentine's Day gifts for my son's class but since he likes them so much, I now have to convince myself to make at least 16 more. LOL!

Introduction to Fruit People Dies

Hi, everyone! It's Emily here and today, I'm sharing a really fun card using the brand new Fruit People dies. It's one of the six sets that were released on January 1st. This is my favourite of them all and I'm delighted to introduce all the pieces as well as create a card from start-to-finish. My son unexpectedly popped in towards the end so you'll get a good little chuckle! ;)

I imagined that the cherry/grape stem could be used as a wishbone so I created a pear couple breaking it to see which one would get to make a wish for their 29th birthday. LOL! The four stitched lines are from the Stitched Frames die collection and the sentiment was customized using the Birthday Sampler stamp set.

In case you missed it, here's the entire January Release which I'm looking forward to sharing more of:

Sassy Script Christmas Card

Hi there! It's Kalyn with my first post on the Virtual Smooches blog! I'm really excited to share new videos with you! Today I'm sharing a card I made using the brand new Sassy Script stamp set. Even though the holidays are over and a new year has begun, I couldn't help but make one last Christmas card with this stamp set. I just loved the way sentiment looked. And I suppose it's never too early to start making cards for next year right?

Watch how I created the card in the video below!

In addition to the Sassy Script set, I used My Mind's Eye stickers and Echo Park This & That Christmas paper to complete the card.

Thanks so much for joining me and I look forward to lots more videos in the future!

Season's Givings Blog Hop + Giveaways!!!

Hi, it's Emily here, and this project was shared on my blog as part of the third annual Season's Givings Blog Hop. Please visit my blog for giveaway details. Yes, there's a Paper Smooches stamp set in there! My card features the following stamp sets and dies from Paper Smooches - Lots of LoveIncognitoGlassesTiny Hearts and Stitched. The video will show you how this card came together! :)

I created a face around the main sentiment and embellished it with glasses and hearts. The eyes were built up with four different stamps and I applied glossy accents to the lips.

I grounded everything using die cut stitching. The patterned papers are from Amy Tangerine's Stitched 6x6 paper pad and the glitter vellum is from Cosmo Cricket's Vellumptuous collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you and your loved ones the very best for the New Year!!
