Circus Birthday

Hi, it's Emily here to share a birthday card I made for our neighbour's three-year-old daughter. We got her LEGO DUPLO's My First Circus and I wanted the card to match the gift! I started with the Enjoy the Show stamp set and coordinating Circus Icons dies.

I used patterned papers with a circus theme to create all three layers of the tent. The tent opening and flaps were created with the largest of the Hexalongs dies.

I combined both the Balloons and Big Balloons dies to create the three balloons. I used the confetti swirl as a number three! The sentiment banners were created using the Digits stamp set and Flag Tags dies to notch the ends.

Halloween Treat Bags with Removable Bookmarks + GIVEAWAY!

Hi, it's Emily here, and I'm sharing a Halloween treat bag idea with removable bookmarks. As I mentioned in a previous post, my son likes to have a different bookmark for each genre of book he reads. I thought this would be a fun gift for some of his close friends. If I get around to it, perhaps I'll make one for each of his classmates.

I used the Deco Bag die for the treat bag, along with Halloween-themed patterned papersI love that you can see both sides of the patterned paper when using the Deco Bag die! This die is big enough to hold a gift card, photo or small candy bar so it's extremely versatile.

I used the smallest of the Bookmarks dies on the backs of the die cut images. I used the witch from Halloweenies (Halloweenies dies), the pumpkin, stem, leaf and spider from Halloween Icons, stitched lines from Stitched; and jar from Crystal Clear (Crystal Clear 1 and 2 dies).

Depending on the size of the treat you include in the bag, you can either hang the bookmarks on the front of the Deco Bag or the back of it. Hanging them in the front will display them prominently, whereas hanging them on the back will create a cute peek-a-boo effect.

Giveaway Details

For my birthday giveaway, one lucky winner will receive both the Kitschy Kitchen and Recipe For Success stamp sets. These are fabulous for a variety of occasions as well as for holiday gift-giving.  You can qualify between now and 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in the following ways for a total of five chances to win:

CAS Masculine card (Try #2) with Savannah O'Gwynn

Hello, friends:}

Savannah O'Gwynn here today:) Did you notice that I didn't post last week? Did you miss me? Did you wonder what happened???

THANKS if you answered YES:)

To be honest--- I had a "battle" with my card and video last week ... and the card won! LOL! I just didn't like the video. So I CASED myself (kind of) and then didn't get a chance to edit the new video before last Thursday. So that's where I've been and what was going on:)
I thought maybe this new card would fit Trav's card style... but I think it fits my 3 challenges better: CAS, Masculine, and it used up my stash!!! HOOORAY!

Here's the video *****Be sure to change your settings to HD before watching! THANKS!

Double Heat Embossing with A Blessed Christmas

Hi, it's Emily here, and Kim is sharing this card on the Paper Smooches Blog today. It features the three wise men silhouette and a sentiment from A Blessed Christmas, as well as the Cityscape 1 and Dots & Dashes dies.

I heat embossed the three wise men twice, once on the Cityscape 1 die and again on the yellow panel. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on top of the black embossed silhouette using the double heat embossing technique. The shiny, layered silhouette and the raised words within it, make for an interesting yet clean and simple design.

Stamp and Die Versatility with Holly Jolly and Blessed Icons

Hi, it's Emily here, and this card features the garlands from the Holly Jolly stamp set as a multi-strand necklace.

The layered sentiment was created using the Christmas Words 2 dies.

I used the Blessed Icons dies to shape the neck and shoulders of the torso, as well as the collar of the shirt.

Holiday Bookmark with Inlaid Stockings Dies

Hi, it's Emily here and this project is a holiday bookmark using the inlaid die cutting technique. It features the new Stockings Dies and Holly Jolly stamp set, along with the Bookmarks Dies. My son has been asking for different bookmarks for different types of books. For example, he'll use a dinosaur bookmark for dinosaur books, a Lego bookmark for Lego books and a sea life bookmark for The Octonauts books.

To create the inlay, I die cut a front and back for the bookmark and die cut the stockings from the front panel. Before adhering the two bookmark panels together, used washi tape to split and stamp the sentiment from Holly Jolly. Then I die cut the stockings and cuffs from patterned paper and adhered the pieces in their respective spots.
